ok time for updates!~
i've been employed as a teaching intern at nas...it's been for the past 3 wks.
well i would say that time passes quick. soon it'll be 10 weeks and sch will start yet again.
in brief:
-1st week of the internship has been brisk and eye-opening. went to those N(A) and N(T) classes with my english lang teaching mentor. she's a great cher i must say-compassionate, firm, caring almost all the qualities of a gd teacher you can think of. no wonder she's always been given these challenging classes in e sch. the end of the wk we celebrated (nt such a gd term but cant think of a better one) mr chua (P's) farewell. LA(vp) is like taking over him as P. we spoke more to the current vp than the p. only on his last day did we get to have a quick chat with him...he's like setting up a new sch in sg. sci n tech one and he's gonne be a p again.
- wk 2: meanwhile LA gave us the 'opportunity' to be attached to korean exchange high sch pupils from incheon! well i had a pretty gd experience with all of them and the girls actually gave me farewell gifts on our last day. the prettiest gift i got was this colorful box and in it were stationaries, food, chocs etc! the rest is mostly korean handmade bookmarks. we bought packs of chocs for the 90 of them to share too. :) incheon's principal mistook me twice for being their pupils and spoke to me in korean somemore. he even told LA and LA jokingly told me to follow them back. do i seriously have the korean look? my 2 other interns said i did but my other frens said no. but well if i do i dun mind either! korean or chinese? take ur pick...haha. and the korean DM he's like such a masculine and tough person. whenever he spoke to the students, he commands such respect that i'm amazed- they'll just keep quiet and listen to him just a few sec after he opens his lungs. i dont think such a DM exist in our local context. somehow i think it's our students. they grow up too fast - too mature for their age maybe that's why i don't see the innocence i see in these korean students. they're much older (17 yrs old) than our sec sch students but they behave in such a candid way u wont get to see in our students. well what can i say?cultural difference or the env we were each brought up in? haa.. next time if i get to go korea the DM says we can meet up with him at incheon intl' airport!
had my dance cca session. the girls were practicing for the upcoming tapestry and i helped them to record videos during the practice. recognised afew girls from the classes i'd went to.
-wk 3: which is now. the sch (or rather LA) gave us 2 projs to complete. what a wonderful job! gotta come up with a video n ppt plus planning of an integrated curriculum which might be carried out by ourselves to test water. on top of that, im also starting my lesson plan for nxt term on expository writing. urgh. piles of stuff.
results were released today. wasnt that crazy to camp at 12am to check and i heard from ct that the system was jammed till 1 plus and only hostel ppl get to log in 1st cus it's sch compound. he is one of those kiasu ones who camped, slept super late and got groggy today when we saw him. k well dropped slightly but im still satisfied. will try harder nxt sem! ((: was talking to x abt exchange prog cus she went hk instep.it's pretty fun to hear experiences but im glad i didnt make a haste decision to accept my india trip(with only 1 other person whom i dont know) the previous round so am planning to try for instep n gip nxt sem again... hopefully i can make better choices then. shall see.
at the same time im alr planning what mods to do for nxt sem. econs peepz shall discuss tgt again.
till then!
